2eme jour:
Day 2:
Wake up at 6am and breakfast with the family. On the menu (2nd picture): sticky rice, bamboos soup (on the bottom), chili "sauce" (middle), mushroom and green vegetables (on the sides) and ... rat stew (on the top)! The meat had quite a strong taste but it was great to try! Gearoid even took another helping.
After 2 hours walking in the jungle (this time it really was, the jungle: plants up to the shoulders and path about 20cm wide!), it's kayaking session!
A few rapids and a bit of a siesta on the canoe, then on the road to the elephant camp where we'll spend the night!
(Gearoid stayed inside the pick-up truck because after 4h kayaking right under the sun, Edwaed Cullens needs some shade)
We arrived late on the camp (we burst 2 tires on the road) and it was already time to sleep for the elephants so we brought them down to the jungle for the night.
As for us, shower time WELL DESERVED!!! And during dinner, while the girls were chatting, the boys were having an insect session.

Did ye say 'rat soup'.
On vacat today for 2 weeks myself. Won't be doing that much trecking buy might (will) indulge in some liquid refreshments to prepare for the upcoming 40th anniversary of the famous Isle of Wight festival at the end of August. (Ask your father Gearoid..I believe he was at it!!)
Take care of yourselves.
